Anyone have experiences with this reel from shimano? Looks like it would be a decent popping reel. Only 12lbs of drag though. Looks like a down and redressed version of a Sarasoga.

Ratio:5.8 (109cm)
Bearings: 4+1
Weight: 565g
Drag: 12lbs
Line Cap: 20lb/275m, 24lb/230m, 32lb/160

Specs:
Hybrid Power Aluminum Body
One-Peace Bail
AR-C Spool
SW Light-Weight Grip
S A-RB
Aero-wrap
Waterproof Drag
Easy Maintenance
Japanese domestic model

A friend of mine that travels in Malaysia & Vietam picked up one of the Shimano Aceration SW8000HG's and gave it to me as a gift.

The instructions are in Chinese or Japanese which I doubt if I would need.

There are two items/parts in small clear plastic bags. Not sure if these are spare or needed for "some assembly required". One is 4 small black washers that appear like they would go on the shaft under the spool.

The other part is 5 transparent, thin plastic pieces maybe 1/2" x 1" that appear to have a peel off layer.

Can someone explain what these parts are for and possibly where I might get an English set of instructions?

Thanks,

John

Hi John, it could be a non-slip tape placed on the spool when using braid like on the stellas. Of course, the washers are for adjustment in the line lay placed on the shaft. It is indeed a JDM that is made in Malaysia.

That's right Mandaragat. That's the same explanation I got from Shimano.
