Avet Sx Raptor for Jigging?

Hi,

I'm looking for a light jigging reel for pe1 - 3 lines. I've been using a Daiwa Saltist LD20 2 speed but have experienced reliability issues almost straight out of the box (Wouldn't go into freespool). The reel will also be used for general trolling duty with mono.

I like the price and features of the SX raptor 2 speed. Will this reel work Or should I go for a dedicated jigging reel? I'm in UK so I'll be buying blind... Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

The Raptors do not have an Anti-Reverse bearing so there is a little play in the handle. It only bothers some people when speed jigging. I personally do not mind and use an HX Raptor. Bad ass reels. More than enough drag, fantastic design and feel solid in use. No complaints at all from me. I have the HX on a JM Three Kings Heavy. I am getting a JX to go on a Medium and SX to go on a Light. I figure that should cover me for most jigging situations.

a JM PE3 or a SX 6/4 (MC or no MC) would be great choices - i generally pick the JMs over any AVET except the larger Raptor reels because the JMs put out so much more drag. now, there is a SX 6/4 Raptor, if i wanted an AVET in that class thats what i would get. PE3 still dominates it in drag though. but do you really need more than 25lbs at full spool?

there is also that company that everyone was talking about after iCast.... they are NE based, only make one reel. i think that reel is in this class and it would be fun to use something that few others use (i havnt seen anything negative on it). someone help me out with the company name......

EDIT: clearly didnt read all of the OP - you already talked about the SX Raptor, my bad :)
