I tie a loop to loop by simply doing a 2 turn surgeons knot in my main line and then using a cats paw to connect a wind on. Works effectively and small knot. One word of caution with swivels... I used a small swivel that got inside my rod tip, popped out my tip ring on the next cast (I didn’t see that happen) then cut my line and sent my smith baby runboh out into the deep... use a big swivel if you can so it doesn’t go in your rod eye!

This is my chicken rig 3-1oz bucktail jigs. Tip the jigs with squid. Tie the line to the barrel swivel at the top. Drop a 6oz boat weight through the loop and drop it down. Stop 75’ from the bottom and hang on. If no bite, drop 10’ at a time until you get bites. Bigger fish are higher in the water.

This is what I use for all my rods. I tie a double overhand loop in braid then do a loop to loop to a 80lb windon. I will then either use a snap swivel for lures (250lb) or tie a cinch knot to the lure. For the jigs, I use a ball bearing swivel with a split ring and the hook attached to the swivel. I simply use split ring pliers to change the jig out and only change the hook if I use a longer or shorter jig.
