Fishing has always been a passion of mine. There's something about being out on the water, feeling the sun on your face, and the thrill of catching a big fish that just can't be beat. So when I saw a picture of a huge Yellowfin Tuna fish from a fishing trip on website in Punta Cana, I knew I had to book a trip.

It was 7 o'clock of the morning on a sunny day when I with my friends came out to the mane gate of our resort, where our transfer to the fishing charter was waiting for us with. We were hoping to catch some most beautiful and largest Tuna, which we had heard were biting well in the area of Punta Cana.

I knew which fishing charter you need for successful fishing, who specializes in offshore fishing and has experience targeting Yellowfin Tuna...
We had booked a fishing charter with Big Marlin Charters, which was known for their experienced captains and excellent equipment. They has been providing successful fishing charters in Punta Cana and other parts of the Dominican Republic for over a decade.I've seen a lot of great reviews that they having a professional and friendly staff.

At the marina we was excited for what lay ahead. The driver of dominican water taxi greeted me warmly and helped me to reach and load onto the boat.
We jumped on board of new and freshest boat “Gone Dog” is 37 feet long with a spacious deck that provides ample space for all fishing equipment and storage. The boat is also fitted with advanced navigation and communication systems. This boat is primarily used for catching a variety of fish species, including tuna, marlin, and mahi-mahi.

It was immediately clear that crew members are skilled and experienced fishermen who use their expertise and knowledge to locate and catch fish. The captain navigated the boat to a suitable location, using their knowledge of the sea and the weather conditions to determine the best fishing spot. The first mate actively prepared tackle and bait at the same time explaining to me what, how and when it would be necessary to do.

As we headed out to sea, the excitement was palpable. We rigged up our gear and set our lines, trolling along at a steady speed. The water was calm, and the sun was shining, making for perfect fishing conditions.

Yellow Fin Tuna are attracted to a variety of bright and colorfull bait and lures, including live bait, artificial lures, and skirted trolling lures. We used top-of-the-line equipment Penn, Shimano, Fin Nor, and Aftco to catch this impressive fish. Additionally, we used the freshest Ballyhoo bait.

After about an hour of trolling, I noticed a commotion in the water - a huge Yellowfin Tuna leaping out of the water, trying to shake the hook from its mouth. I quickly grabbed my fishing rod and prepared to reel in my catch.

The tuna put up a fierce fight, pulling and jumping in an attempt to escape. But I was determined to land the fish and with the help of the all team, I slowly reeled it in.

As the fish came closer to the boat, we could see just how big it was. It was easily the largest tuna I had ever seen, weighing at least 50 pounds.

I was using the fishing rod and reel and we keeped the line tight and wear down the fish's strength.
As the fish get closer to the boat, we must to use a gaff to bring the fish on board.
With a final burst of energy, the Tuna made one last jump out of the water and in that moment deckhand impale the fish and lift it onto the boat..

It was a thrilling moment, and we all cheered as we took photos and admired the fish.

Back at the marina, we weighed the tuna and took some more photos to commemorate the catch. We all felt a sense of pride and accomplishment for catching such a nice fish.

Overall, it was a memorable fishing trip and an experience I will never forget. Catching a yellowfin tuna was the highlight of the day, and I couldn't have done it without the help of the fishing charter and my friends. It was a reminder of the joys and rewards of spending time outdoors and enjoying the natural beauty of the ocean.

Yes, it happened. Imagine our surprise! Usually, tuna pulls downwards. Even the guys from the fishing charter said they had never seen anything like before. My friend just was tired of reeling and at that moment the line wasn't tight, which allowed the fish to jump. Of course, it didn't jump like a marlin for five feet, but it did break the surface by a foot.
