    hey everyone...im new to this forum. i have a question...im goin offshore for tuna for the first time and am wondering what tackle am i gonna need for leaders and such? i have a penn senator 6/0....can i do anything with it? thanks!

    Welcome to board Bluff Rat. You going out on PB or private boat? Your 6/0 should work for chunking/free lining. Use circle hooks and 80lb mono/flo for leader. You may have to go down to 60-50lb if tuna is wary.

    You may get in to some big AJ too. Good Luck.

    im not sure if its a private boat or not...i was just told "you're going" so i said ok. i believe its the "big e" out of freeport tx.

    Find 1 more rod reel in class of 750 penn spin or 3\0 type
    for jigging black fin tuna.
