hey what is your guys input on rigging my okuma 50 wide 2 speed i canyon fish yft on the east coat its still in the box first trip is sept 4-6 what line lb brand and how much mono top shot ? im very inexperienced:confused:

If you fish on a party boat on the East Coast, they don't allow braided line for chunking and you got to use only mono. On a party boat, you need lines with good abrasion resistance. Don't use any soft line as your soft line is the first to get cut if you tangle with ohter guys's lines. Andy 80 lbs is a good choice. You can tie hook directly on your main mono line or attach 8-12 ft 80 lbs fluoro carbon leader line using a barrel swivel.

after using Izorline, I have yet to find a line that matches its quality and strength. I use the XXX copolymer on my light stuff and have cut myself many times trying to break 12# test... I imagine the 60-80# is bulletproof.
