I have a saltiga 6500 and I am having some issues finding a seat that fits snug and keeps the reel in place when cranking the handle. I have tried amtak and fuji DPSH seats so far and both have too wide of a slot for the reel and the reel wobbles when I crank it. Have any of you tried the Alps seats for this reel? If so how does it fit?
i just got the new alps with the holes and woven tube inserts. its a shame you are not closer we could try it.
I am having the same type of problem with a Shimano Saragosa. My new rod came with a "conventional" reel aluminum seat, which is too wide for the spinning reel type foot. I found a slim design aluminum seat from Pacific Bay that is made for spinning reels and looks perfect. Here is a link: Channel Lock™ Slim Spinning Reel Seats : Products : Pacific Bay International
I have several of these. They should work well. Let me know what size reel you are using and I will check it out. Scott
I think I am going to just go with a Fuji DSPM seat. It looks like this is what most of the Japanese rods are using and it fits the foot of the rod nicely.
