Reggie and I decided to go fish for anything that swims , so we headed for Isla Montuosa, we got out very late, about 7:50am and we got to Montuosa at exactly 9am, Capt.Macho Marlago ran 42MPH at 4700RPM, this was sweet, got a little wind burn from that speed,LOL
anyway the Bonitos was all over the place, we loaded up with bait first and see if we can hook a Big Black Marlin, after a few minutes a school of YFTs showed up so we decided to throw some top water on it, we got some good hooked ups but lost quite a few, the fish was kinda small anyway, after that we went for some bottom action on some secret spot, Reggie drop an OTI JIg and was slamed by a big AJ, then surface action erupted when a school of Cubera Snapper and Mullet Snapper went after a bait ball, quick thinking in throwing poppers at them produce quite a few nice fish, after that we decided to head for Hannibal Bank, we were amazed by the presence of YFTs in the area , we threw metal and wood at them and cannot get a bite, drove as crazyzzz, threw live bait and they where just nipping the tail, it is
challenging when the fish is all over the place feeding in front of you and you could not get them to take your hook, they were so focus on what they where feeding that they ignore other choice, so I said to head back to Montuosa an see if we can get the late afternoon bite, we got on another huge school of YFTs and Porpoise feeding on a huge school of torpedo Mackerel , we got on the best position can be that the bait ball took refuge on the boat, we were in shock when the action got so close to the boat, again a few hooked ups and loss, I don't know what the problem but we cannot keep fish on the hook, check out this pics. enjoy
