As a GEM 07' doesnt look to be happening.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to do a 3-4day private trip on the Pelican with say 15 people?

I dont even know how to organize trips, but I was thinking that would be really cool, if this is possible at some time in 2007, would anyone be interested?

I have no idea on prices, I figure around $1200 maybe less.

Just thinking,

Kevin....

A three or four day trip on the Pelican is pretty unlikely for several reasons. Logistics being one. John has been having to cut his 48's short because the fish boxes are full or they have used up all of their ice, etc.

Keep in mind that DSH will not do these trips to the floaters until November. I have been ragging on them for a couple of years now to at least start them earlier in October or even as early as mid-September but they can net so much more money doing two 5 hr trips in a day to take folks out to get a limit of kings and sharks. Even running full 8 hr trip for the same purpose are money-in-the-bank trips for them. And their customers are happy.

The only possibility as I see it for them to start doing them sooner is if the Feds limits shuts down interest to the point that they might need to start doing more long range charters earlier. Who knows?

Starting November it would be tough to get a weather window that would last that long too.

But you never know until you try.

Kevin- just save up your money and watch for the trips. a 3 day... tooo much with the limit of 3 yellowfin per person. Unless you are setup to do catch, tag, and release.... Just kick back, save your money, be READY to send it when the posts are made, and jump on board. TOO does several each year through the various boards... so theres always one somewhere... Organizing trips is how TOO stays in business. You missed out by taking your name off that 12 hour trip in July..... these charter captains know TOO by first name and work thier arses off for him.
