Hi folks, we've been instructed by those going on the Texas Bluewater Blowup '08 (TBB 08) to post the following information to fill a number of spots on TBB '08.
TBB '08 has been like a yo-yo, more folks in and out of this charter than any charter we've organized.
    Here are the details:
Charter: 52 hour Big E Limited load private charter, Underwater Expeditions Freeport, Texas
    Dates: September 5th-7th, 2008
    Departure/return time: 11 am/ 3pm
    Fishermen limit: 35 paid fishermen
    Cost: $750 per spot
    Deposit: $250
Balance: $500, plus any fuel surcharge
Target: YFT, AJ's, Grouper, Dorado, etc
Options: 3 meals a day (with a cook), plus snacks, shirts and hats will be discussed and offered at cost if there is a demand for those amenities.

More information and points to consider:
Right now we have 22 committed to TBB 08, and possibly 25 if one TBB 06/TBB 07 fishermen does commit to 3 spots he called for.
We need 10-13 people to make TBB 08 happen. We have had as many as 32 that had said they were in on TBB 08, but some have either pulled out or not paid their deposit. Reasons like the change in the red snapper season to end in August, other charters taking priority, as well as other reasons have dropped the number going to 22, and possibly 25 people.
The folks committed to TBB 08 break down to about 20 veteran TBB'ers from the last two years and 2-3 experienced, yet "new" TBB 'ers. Almost every TBB 08'er is known on the various forums and would be recognized.
TBB limited load charters are a result of folks wanting to fish together as a group to experience the friendship and teamwork of a private charter.
TBB 06, and TBB 07 were marked by outstanding fishing in one form or the other. Big E boat record of 126 YFT was caught on TBB 06, and TBB 07 had an extreme grouper and AJ bite for all involved. TBB 08 promises to offer some type of outragous bite as well.
There are pro's and con's to doing a limited load Big E charter and we want anyone interested in doing a TBB charter to be aware of these points.
    Con:
Higher cost, about $100 more than an open 52 hour Big E charter. If you go on an open Big E charter with less than 35 people, you have a better deal moneywise vs numbers. Will fall 2008 Big E 52 hour charters have less than 35 people? You never know for certain until time for the charter.

    Pro's:
More room to fish: 35 people does open the boat up just a bit more, even on a big boat like the Big E.
More teamwork: those going on TBB are a part of the TBB 08 group email and folks pass along information on the charter before the charter and work with each other, loaning stuff, offering suggestions, and so on. Open charters usually offer great people fishing together, but having 35 people on the same page makes the private charter that much better. Everyone is relaxed and know that all on board are working together to make the charter a success.
No reserved spot for day fishing. On TBB charters, a person can fish anywhere they want along the rail, just communicate the wish and usually folks will move or offer a spot along the rail.
Custom tune the charter. If the foks want to they can request that the Captian fish specific area or a cetain way. Both previous TBB trips trusted Captain Frank's experience and knowledge and fished where he thought the fish would be, but that option is there if wanted by all.
Very good fishermen on board. TBB 08 has some very experienced tuna and just experienced fishermen on board. We'll let them post up if they want to be known, but these folks can catch fish. Also all on board are very friendly folks, easy to work with and just great people.
Sponsors/Meals/ hats & shirts: TBB 06 and TBB 07 offered 3 meals a day and snacks at a reasonable coast and most folks really appreciated this option. Cost is not too high and the food is good. Previous meals included, carne guisada tacos, grilled chicken, hamburgers, tater's, cole slaw, ham or turkey sandwiches, grilled tuna, bratwurst, as well as other foods. This option will be offered on TBB 08 as will hats and/or shirts offered at cost to those wanting them.
We'll be trying to provide some sponsor goodies for TBB 08 as well.

So consider the pro's and con's of joinig TBB 08 and if interested please contact us at (210)215-3877 or email us at [email protected] and we can discuss TBB 08. We've been treated exceptional well by U.E. on this charter, but we need to either fill the charter real soon or drop TBB 08, and we have 25 that definitely do not want to drop TBB 08.

Hi folks, TBB 08 picked up two people, fishing duck and a buddy, so we are at a confirmed 27 right now. It's going to be a great trip so consider joining as Seite Tuna and TBB 08 are looking alike as far as fishermen going.
Welcome aboard TBB 08, fishingduck, you and your buddy will really enjoy this charter.
