Has anyone built a jig stick by cutting down the St Coix 2 or 4M63XHF blank or leaving it as is? The weight is just over 4 ounces for either blank at 6' 3" and is rated 36 - 80 lb line with a lure rating of 3 - 8 ounces.

I was thinking of this blank for a medium wt outfit for vertical spinning applications.

Just looking for input and thoughts,

    Ed

    never really cut down,
but we use the muskie 2M series for bottom jigging, seabass, fluking, tiles,
usually 7' or longer conventional built.
also the older 2SW series works great.

also check out the batson swim bait blanks.
they are close to the same ratings, nice blanks.

i just did a seabass jigging trip and was fishing 8-10oz jigs.
    with the batson
worked perfect for our fishery up here for deep jigging.
