Do we really need this for our spectra?
Have any of you use this products?
Spectra line coating...... Do we really need this for our line?
There is a very cheap ....and probably just as good variation on this which is widely used in the sewing machine industry called 'MECSIL' . I use it on fly lines and the result is ,the line flies through the guides like a rocket ......you will almost double your present casting distance.
Where can we buy this MERCIL? are they available online?
Hey TJ- When I was mainly fishing freshwater, I used a silicone-based conditioner on my mono, mostly when fishing in cold weather.
It did help to keep limpness in the line.
Much of spectra has a coating (teflon?), and maybe this stuff would help 'restore' the line after the coating wears off?
