jsut curious what everyone's thoughts & expectations are. I've heard rumor that huge reds should be the norm for accomplished snapper guys. We'll be going from Freeport if it's do-able. what do y'all think?
jsut curious what everyone's thoughts & expectations are. I've heard rumor that huge reds should be the norm for accomplished snapper guys. We'll be going from Freeport if it's do-able. what do y'all think? dunno about the freeport area, but where i'm from the gulf coast of mississippi, two weeks ago when we went out to the rigs, we released at least 30 in the 15lb range and at least 5 in the 20lb range. they are so thick out there its unreal, you could see a whole school swimming from the transom of my boat. it was quite sad tossing them back. and the bad thing about it was that i was free lining all of these snappers, was trying to hit some kings but the damn snappers kept eating our baits, we didn't even chum them up! hopefully its like this still June 1st. this 2 p/p stuff is BS i tell you BS.
that's not rumor it's fact Hurricane IKE pushed a lot of big sows in close. We caught lots of snappers from 10-20+ lbs after Ike from 20 - 55 miles out. A friend of mine went out 2 months ago and it's the same; those big snappers are kinda of a nuissance now, they'll eat it before you can get it to other targets
ive caught several over 30" so far this year, and one that was pushing 3 feet and 30+ lbs. big snapper are there if they havent been poached yet lol
Doesn't the current overpopulation of Red Snapper contribute to the global warming greenhouse effect? (I'm almost positive that fish fart....I've seen bubbles when out there)
