Don't know if these have been discussed before, but I'm intruiged.

Anyone look at this reel yet?

They claim 40lbs max drag for the two larger models.

    Talica II

    havent seen it yet.
line cap looks good, so does drag.
i would like a slightly lower gear ratio.
    but they look nice.

honestly im not sure....but just playing with the reels, i noticed it when i ramped up the drag. now, that may be 30lbs which is more than youll likely use anyway....but i think its worth looking at before just buying.

hmm i think I should wait becouse I need to compare it with shimano tiagra or tryrnos II . Maybe some on can help me. I need this reel for live bait trolling/drifting. usally we catch AJ , Dentex but at these day BFT is making the place home. So I can easly hook up a tuna from Generaly the tuna that make thair home in the maltese waters are 35kg + ( Even a 120kg was caught). but usally they are 35kg-80kg. for which reel should I go. As a rod im going for a 20-30lb or 30-50 lb rod but dont know which brand I should buy. any suggestions?

You questions are rather broad and in your post you describe fishing for fish that are quite a bit bigger than the rods you list. Please focus you question so that we might best answer for you.

Also, what style do you prefer? One reel for everything might be a Tiagra 50w for some, a Stella 8000 for another angler.

John I will try to focus on AJ (20kg max) and Dentex . Now I'm confused about the rod. My question is which brand make good standup rods? the rod action I'm looking for is Fast-Medium action . About drifting I will use a Stella 8000Fa and as a rod Ill use an Xzoga PE4 Which I managed to tackle a 17kg AJ on it.

As a reel for trolling I'm still searching for an Ideal one.
