    [QUOTE="jon holsenbeck, post: 594468, member: 47490"BTW, what is bottom lock?[/QUOTE]

    On reels? I haven't heard it called that but someone probably does, I heard it referred to as spool lock. These reels have no "clicker function"
    Where the "clicker" would normally be, instead that function locks line from leaving reel so you can break off, or pull with no drag.
    Popular with the JDM sold reels. Nice in that you don't have to change drag setting or wrap line around reel to break off a snag.

    Bro, since this thread started, I've been on the hunt and can't find anything! I've reached out to a couple of friends overseas and two of them said that there's been talk of a remake but they don't know much more past that. I don't know man.

    I believe the OJ4k is taller and more drag than the Trinidad 30. Also T bar on OJ vs egg knob on Trini
    OJ4k= Trini 40N
    OJ 5k = Trini 40

    OJ 4k and 5k are for speed jigging so they are narrow. I can’t stand jigging with wide reels like Trinidad 30. These large OJs are so powerful that you can speed jig with 400g and up. Compare the Torque with the 2000 OJs and you will feel the huge difference.

    Interesting spec table, very similar specs to a Marfix N4, but looks like they made it a bit more "palmable," although I'm not sure how. Their 4.4:1 ratio has the same 100cm per crank as the Marfix N4, so that tells me it's got to be similar spool diameter, and the N4 is a very tall reel.

    Specs have it at 785g (27.7 oz) which puts it in Torsa 16n weight territory, and just shy of the Marfix N4 at 810g for a comparable weight reference.

    Specs looks good with 40lbs of drag (18kg), drag sound, and x-protect. I assume it would have the same smoothness as the small ones.

    Benwah, Marfix and even Evergreen have unusually low drag output for their weight and size and too geary for my liking. Didn’t actually fished it but I’ll take Marfix over same geary SOM as the former is Japanese and SOM IS Korea.

    Damn. Not sure how that 4:4:1 ratio is gonna feel. Was hoping for 4:1. I'll wait.

    Well my 4000 arrived from Japan to NZ during the lockdown and due to weather along with the lockdown it got it's first outing a few days ago.
    4.4 ratio and handled the local kings well drag was very smooth up to 18kg as specified with specs.

    What a gorgeous reel. If it’s anything like the old 4000s I’m all in . Been waiting a while for this
