This pair of rods was built for Inshore bottomfishing on teh Ocean Eagle on th Hercules Inshore Lite blank. Will be used with 4-8oz, but wil handle 3-10 without a hitch. I'm sure they'll also used it for Ocean Fluking as well as Porgy, Sea Bass, and Blackfish. This isa father & son combo, tehy one a Bakery in Brooklyn called Teena's which inspired this rod.

Grips are Customgrip EVA with inlays done with teh same material. He needed thicker grips, 1 3/8" finished, so starting with square stock made iteasy to accomplish. THis particular EVA is extremely hard and dense - the best EVA money can buy, but only available in square stock (I have it in stock in several colors if you are wondeing)

Guides are Amtak Virtus Lite titanium. The wrap I did at teh SI NERBs gathering with 6 people watching over my shoulder, it took about 2 1/2 hours which includes answerring questions and showing "how to". The epoxy onthe wrap came out flawless, which isn't always the case no matter how hard we try. The Red & White trim bands used in teh grip inlays were repeated throught the rod, right out to teh tip top, and even in the center of the wrap pattern (which is called The Sparkler)

This is the son portion of the pair of rods. He is an avid Mets fan, so his request for "I dont' care what you do" ended up with one of the sharpest contrasting colored wraps I've done. TEH light BLue with teh orange on top literally jumps off the rod. GUides used were Alconites, EVA grips sanded the way they should besanded. Hopefully he puts some blackfish on it this weekend.
