Anyone had any experience with these or ever seen one in person?
Trying to decide it it could possibly be strong enough.

i was thinking the same thing when i saw that rod with the plate seat. I have never heard of one on a conventional jigging rod, only on the long distance surf rods.

I like the sound of the rod but that makes me really nervous...

I think that reel seat is not design for heavy line. I have seen it in Japan fishing show.

if you look on rodbuilding sites, that reel seat is listed as a "Plate Type Surf Reel Seat"
