If you prefer to horse a fish the Trevala is NOT for you. If you are willing to allow the rod to do the work they're Good, but I suspect some of the other new jigging rods are better.
Rick hates Trevalas and I like mine, but we both fish differently.

You might want to try one of ours before you buy one.
If you prefer to horse your fish don't look at the Trevala.

The trick to the trevala is to crank a load on the rod and let it pull and repeat.
I think you made the wrong choice in Trevala, the medium is too weak for much beyond snapper.

Ronnie is correct, the spinner is NOT a caster it is a jigging rod for a spinning reel. It is not designed to cast.
