a 5 day trip would be about as much tuna fishing as any of us could stand. i voted for the five day trip just so we could possibly start having some long range operations like they do in san diego. no telling what's really out there in the gulf of mexico if only the long liners are fishing for them. hopefully the next progression on the big e will be toward a 72 hour trip....rick

I agree about the 5 day trips Rick.

I've been doing some research about San Diego's Long Range trips and how they began.

It took a few very hardy fishermen, that committed money and effort, that were successful to really begin and continue that type of fishing.

I know many of us that fish the GOM have the same fortitude and hope we'll someday pull off a 5 dayer.

It would be great to find a Captain (and fully capable boat and crew) to join in the exploration!

I wouldnt mind being able to fish 3 nights for tuna.. A five day would be nice, but due to vacation time, it would be difficult to pull off with all of the other stuff I have planned. 52hrs would be sufficient but another night would be nice.
