Looking for some info and feedback on this Penn reel. I purchased this as a back-up for an offshore trip I'm taking this April and I haven't found a lot of reviews online. I'm also looking to upgrade the drag washers on this reel so that it can handle some offshore action if I have to use it. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

At $49 [or less], The Silverado series is not really suitable for any kind offshore fishing, not even as a backup.
It is intended as an inshore/pier/bay reel for casual/weekender type anglers.

on ebay you cold get an ssm or an older ss for about the same money. the 650 or 6500 is about the same size. ive used both for years without trouble.

I had considered at least a 750 ssm but at the time that I was looking on EBAY I didn't see any that were worth what they were asking for them. Guess I'll do some searching and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the advice.
