Panama: Boca Chica Region April 16th till April 24/25th

@ Panama Sportfishing Lodge located on the river mouth less than 1.5 hrs run to fishing grounds.

We have reserved the 2 35ft ers and the 29 Stamas for this trip (Capt. Macho, Capt. Sergio and Capt )

Tacklenow's Pro Staff takes you to pristine and unspoiled destinations where you will really have the chance for a fish of the lifetime. It's not a claque; we regularly and consistently put our customers "on the fish".
This will be our FOURTH trip to Panama in 12 months.

For these new to Popping / Jigging we are here before, during and after the trip to lend assistance with tackles, leaders, knots, rigging, lure selection, etc.

Welcome to TackleNow.com!

Extra expenses:
Single Rooms at Veneto are $99/night single or double occupancy, Jr Suites are $125 a night & include WiFi Internet, Breakfast, $10 Casino Credit. Rooms can be split/shared - ie two double beds in standard room or cot in Suites.

Guys, competitors like Tropic Star, are offering a similar but not as good trip, including 6 days fishing for $5,600 and that's in old, slow '31 Bertrams with little room or interest in casting to these fish. They also get $210 per room at the Sheraton (older, not as nice as Veneto and no Casino). Our trip is very reasonably priced and we still have five spots to fill!!!

Tacklenow.com Sponsored trip!
Each Angler will receive, Tacklenow Ichiban LS Tuna Shirt, Ichiban SS Tuna Shirt, HPA Jig Bag, Asst Jigs and Poppers from CMT, OTI, Strike Pro and Yo-Zuri.

Various pools and contests to keep things interesting.
Last trip we had daily pools sponsored by Tuff Line, HPA and OTI. Free shirts, free tuff line XP, Poppers, swimbaits.

While no one won the CMT/OTI/Bogan 300g Acid Jigger rod for largest tuna this past April, we gave away lots of good stuff - mainly to Ryan Anderson - he had a stellar trip!

East coast anglers have option of flying as a group on Continental leaving from Newark.

You have the option of either one night or two nights in Panama City on each end of the trip. We will leave Panama City for the Lodge on SUNDAY at NOON. We will return to Panama City the following SATURDAY early afternoon.

So we have 5 Spots open as of right now, which fills 3 boats.

There are two certified divers thus far and we are planning a dive option for Wednesday Day three. I'd like to do a two tank, 30 to 50 foot reefs. This might be a dive/have lunch/dive/do a little inshore popping trip. Dive option is +- $200.00 based on 4 divers plus tips, so it would be great to get another couple of guys that want to dive, or even two non certified guys that want to free dive (no tanks or regs). No spearfishing as we plan to dive near Cohiba which is a World Park.

Ha Ha it will be here soon - but not soon enough. We have 7, need at least one more to make it go which I know will not be an issue, but the goal is still 12 - so we need five anglers/and or divers - I only posted the trip on one other board and would like to keep it in the 360/BD family if we can.

Guys this trip is prime season (April), good moon phase and we have the best Captains and boats in the area reserved. You are assured to have a great time on this trip. John at Panama Sportfishing Lodge has been working his as* off - the place looks better than ever, new rooms, new staff, dedicated bartender!!!, new cook! Excellent chow, excellent Staff.

Day Three (Wednesday) you have the option of fishing or diving! Diving is small extra cost to the trip.

So please pass the word and help us fill the third boat.

Hey guys just a quick update, Harold - received your deposit this afternoon thanks. I am in contact with the lodge every couple of days and we are actively working on the dive option for Wednesday and getting all that together - details to follows.

As of right now we have 4 or 5 spots still available and again, April is prime month for Tuna and we have the prime moon phase lined up for this trip.

im at newark airport now. there is the embargo right now - but i paid the curb check in $20 and nothing was weighed or measured. probably saved about 30-45 minutes in waiting in line to check bags. may be worth it for those traveling in the future.

#10 ·
ha ha you never know - you are more than welcome to free dive - but this is a serious day of diving / free diving. So that makes three - one more and we have 4 for diving which would be ideal.

Harold please P/M me your address

Guys spots are still available - April is an ideal month for both all the inshore species and the idea time for the COW Yellowfin. This is the same time of year/same moon phase that we got the #230 at Hannible Bank last year....

Hey Gang

I think we are going to book our flights today, the direct flight down is getting pretty full with only about 24 seats available - I don't want anyone stuck in a bad seat.

Here are the details for those traveling from the NE
These are non stop, direct flights

Continental #CO887 5:25PM Newark to Panama City Friday April 16th
#CO886 10:00AM PTY to Newark Sunday April 25th

Still have 4 Spots available for this trip if anyone wants to go!

Hey guys there are still spots available on what is sure to be a fantastic trip, idea month and moon phase, good group of experienced fisherman going down.

All tackle in terms of Stella 20K, OTI Tuna Snipers, CM220, CM Flutter, Salas and OTI Wombat (one per participant) is included so you need not worry about the expense or trouble of bring down tackle and rods. Maybe just outfit yourself with some extra proven poppers and swimbaits, pack your suntan lotion, favorite hat and join us April 16th to the 25th! what is sure to be another epic adventure.

Dan,

I see some west coast jigs pulling in some big fish. An absolute bargain compared to some of the other lures, just as effective and last forever. I got close to 100 of these things. It's going to take an act of God (or the government) for me to miss this trip.

#15 ·
Yeah I've always been a fan - these lures have a ton going for them, first as you mention they are cheap, no one is going to cry when a Cuda steals a $9 lure, two they have a low profile and you can cast them into the wind very well, 3 - as you know they are simple to work, just cast and reel in steady - very simple action to draw intensive strikes. Look at Peter's Cubera - that was a one of two in a 30 minute span on the Blue/White Salas last trip.

I cannot wait to throw some of the new darker colors like the black/purple one we just got in and the Red/Green/Black/White is also a good one.

Hey Gang I am so sick of this snow, third major snowfall and another PITA...we where blessed enough to get another 8" just in time for the Oaks Sportsmans Show this weekend.

Glad to report that we now have our own (wireless) Visa/MC/Discover/MAC terminal, so credit cards are now welcomed without the Paypal expenses! :D :D

Trip has been discounted to $2,495.00 PP based on filling three boats, we have a boat and a half full as of right now, so we are looking for 2 to 5 more guests on this guided expedition to Panama April 16th to the 25th.

The price is a deal and a half: 5 days offshore fishing, 6 nights lodging, open bar, excellent meals, housekeeping, laundry. Tips not included.

Bret and I did alot of work to the website last night - its not complete by any means but ready for a sneak peak - its rainy out - check it out at least for a few minutes you can dream of being fishing in warmer climates.

Panama

Guys I cannot believe more of you have not jumped on the Panama trip. Its very reasonable - at the Oaks show I was talking with guys that fish a much more famous but older operation and they paid $5200 pp to drive around in old bertrams all week.

I just checked and the airfare is still a VERY REASONABLE $334 DIRECT/NONSTOP/ ROUNDTRIP

For under $3,000 you are going to get an amazing 5 days of fishing, new modern fast centers outfitted especially for Jigging and Popping, all meals, drinks, even laundry service.

Please P/M, email dan@jignpopadventures.com with questions or just to chat about the trip.

Oh did I mention there are tackle gift bags, shirts and an OTI 300g jigging rod acid wrapped for the largest tuna caught on the trip.

Its going to be blast in Panama, Again!

That's your 'homework' assignment :D

Upgrade all your favorite poppers for the trip with the heavier split rings and hooks in there :)

Dwight came by this morning and dropped off his rods for the rod tube so we are basically ready on the East coast. I leave Sunday for Oregon Inlet to fish with Don from Canyon Reels - maybe he can be talked into some demos for Panama =)

The custom wind on leaders I ordered from Streamline also arrived this morning (#100 Fluor x 12 feet for casting) and I have enough for everyone to use.
