Just received my new Ocea Jigger 2000 (which I think is a 16N) anway im gonna spool it with 40lb suffix braid but dont know how much mono backing is necessary. Only gonna use a 20' topshot so I need the reel "topped" off.

Trying to do this once, not put the braid on, top off with mono than reverse unless necessary

I usually dont either, usually spool off large spools. But this reel I have a 300yd spool that I want to use and dont want the reel "half full". If that makes sense.

If you dont want to fill it with 40#, why not just move up in line size... No connection to worry about...
If I were to spool it I would put 65 lb and just load it tight.
