I've received a oti 7′6″ 60-80lb popping rod. Now I can put the top half only a little bit in the but end. How far should i put it in? Should I use a wax or something like that?

Thanks

thats too much. is it possible for you to post a pic of it. some rods have real tight fits. i have a rod that it takes alot of effort to twist and push in that once in its almost impossible to align. i ended up takin some fine sand paper and worked on it a very little at a time. if you take too much off, theres no fixing it

thanks for the answers. i used a little bit of wax, now it works with some twists. now there is left about a half ich of exposed blank out of the female end.

I like the chap stick tip- cheap and easy

It probably goes without saying, but when you take it apart be sure to resist the urge to try turning the blank by grabbing the stripping guide...not that I've ever done that:eek: :D
