Yeah...the does and young bucks look stressed...had lots of grass this year...can't figure that out. I look at the pics and think I may have a situation in which there are more bucks than does....may have to do a little harvesting. I can't figure out which ones to take out...but I am going to wait until the end of the season to figure out what to do. I do not have a high fence...so as the rut begins, some of these bucks may go traveling away to find some tang.
The rut doesn't start up here in this part of South Texas until about the third week of December...at least that's pretty typical here. I'm curious to see if any of the "monster" bucks come out at that time. I have seen a couple over the last four years, when I first bought the ranch, that were magazine cover material. We'll see how it goes.
