Wrong guess gman. Let me say the captain is a member I don't know about the angler But he warmed up on a yft two weeks ago for 4.5 hours.

WOW!!! What a weekend. This was not just any fish it is THE fish I have been dreaming of for over 4 years. Getting the hook to stick to one of these big girls has been more than a challenge it was a obsession. Although the nights of being the only one on the humps in my little 24' boat are long gone, The lure of fighting one of these gladiators still drives me to go for days without sleep.

The real prize that I have found out of all this was not the fish, It is the friends I have made along the way. The fish will be eaten and the pictures may be lost but the friends will be there for years to come.
A little funk to this story is one year ago today I was able to take Capt Dan out for his first of many swords to come and pass on the things I had learned. Well one thing leads to another and here we are sitting on the dock at 4:00am this morning icing down a state record fish.

Shane was the on the reel for the night once again and after a recent 4 1/2 hour battle on a tuna during the Tunamania tourny our confidence in him on the reel is unshakable and made my Job at the helm easy.

Congrats on a great catch Bro!

    OK, THE FISH.

Shane hooked up on the first rod in the water as the sun went down and the moon went up, Typical sword fight the whole time, Left then right ,up then down and she even gave us a jump with the moon in the background that will be etched in our minds for years to come. The fish was hooked deep and after close to 3 hours and 2 1/2 miles she was done and Danial had the leader in hand as she made her last tail beats. Gaffs and ropes were only needed to get the fish onboard at this point. No big stories to tell of fish going nuts at boat side or anything like that. It was almost like the ocean just gave her to us at the end, Kinda freaked me out.

Fransisco, Anthony, Danial, and Shane were a awesome team and I would put them against any fish that swims. Congrats guys !

I need some sleep NOW! sorry if I rambled.
