[Billfish3]

Ran into a friend who does a good amount of slow pitch jigging in FLA. He mentioned if I am looking for something to fish heavier jigs in deep water I should consider a longer rod and not a 6'6"?

well said! I wince when I see guys too lazy to net the fish and would rather risk breaking a $500 than calling for the net or grabbing the leader. Then they cry and blame the rod - seen it live too many times

It takes getting used to i guess. I dont lift any decent sized fish into the boat with any rod for that matter lol.
Well other than small dolphin fish which attack your top water tuna popper, cause those are fun to flip into the boat and wack your friend with. lol
