I sure hope Shimano's new stuff is better than that tease. As much money as that Company makes, they could at least hire a decent advertising company to do the promo. I think "Pole Dancing" would have been a better choice than the "Twist".

DBG,
All you rich guys in CC need to wait another month or two. Roy's will probably be stocking the new topless accurates. All of us broke guys north of you are only wishing we could live as close to the water as you guys.

I seriously doubt Roy's will stock any of the new Accurates, but I could be wrong. The Tyrnos look like they are priced to compete with the Avets, but
I'm wondering how well they will cast compared to the Avets. Still waiting to see what a Hoo-X feels like!

Mr. Bill, it doesn't do any good to live this close to the water... I'm always working and can hardly get time off to fish. Did do a run up to Mesquite Bay off the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge recently to check on a well, and it sure was beautiful up there. I need to take some poles next time.

Come have breakfast with us!

Yea, I hear you. I'm either working or dealing with some sort of health care issues with relatives. It never ends. Just giving you guys a hard time because I'm jealous. I only live 3 hours from the GOM. I don't think I could have fished one single day even if I lived on the water. It's been tough for a guy that probably likes to fish more than anyone.

Mr. Bill,

I was wrong, Roy's is stocking some of the smaller Accurates! Went by today to pick up my Hoo-X, and they had a really good selection of the single speed BOSS reels, plus both the 30 and 12 spinners. Both spinners still feel too heavy to me!

Hoo-X is nice!!

Here's the current Kaikon. It upgraded from 10 to 13kg drag and now has a lower profile line counter. There's an upgrade on one of the main bearings also. Price went up a little but these are some great reels.

FTE]

it also has a lower gear ration than the original kaikon 4000t's mine are 6.3 to 1...rick

Rick, I've used the older ones as jigging reels and they've been great but the changes are all pluses as far as I can tell. 28 lbs of drag, a little more powerful gear ratio, and a line counter that doesn't stick out quite so far. The only thing is, the price puts it up there with the one speed 665.
That said, you can always make room for one more I guess. Got 3 of the OTI rods to check out and they look great. Am spooling up a Kaikon for the 300 gram rod and an Accurate 665 for the 600 gram. Think a TwinPower 8000 on the spinner. Now. I NEED TO GO FISHING.
