WE ARE ALSO RAISING THE PRICE MONEY FOR THE BIGGEST YFT to 8k

TAKE out ALL THE COSTLY LUXURY HOTEL AND EXPENSIVE HOTEL DINNER, LUXURY TRANSFER

ANGLERS ARRIVE ON THE 16TH AND WILL BE DIRECTLY SHUTTLED FROM AIRPORT TO THE LODGE

    Glen,

This is just another optional way for us to set up this tournament.

$3500 entry fee is based on 3 anglers per boat, 7 boat total,an individual tournament. first class accommodations in Panama city, first class meals, wine, beer and liqueurs all inclusive. 4 days tournament, plus one day pre fish before tournament or 1 day fun fishing after the tournament is included in this price.

$2300 entry fee is based on 4 anglers per boat, 7 boat total, this is a team tournament.

i hope this will clear things up.

It sounds like there's enough interest to increase the number of fishermen from 21 to 28 and lower the price. I'm up for that and additional days fishing whether it be pre-tournament or fun fish or whatever is okay with me. I'd have to pass if it goes to $5800 though.
I WANNA FISH PANAMA. That 8K could grow too with a little big fish pot.

$2300 for 5 day fishing with four guys on a boat with a chance of winning $8000 per boat ?
John, it is a better deal than our trip on April.
Why don't you bring 16 guys on four boats on my trip for a tournament. :)

It does i thought he meant $3500 plus $2300, my mistake. #people is ideal any more becomes problematic IMHO

I like the idea of driving to the lodge from Panama instead of flying to David because of airline luggage restrictions. When I went to Panama Sportfishing Lodge in Jan, we drove and the 5 hour driving was not bad all.
I read that the Air Panama allow only one 10 pound carry-on bag and one 25 pound checked bag from Panama to David.

KIL , TO MAKE THIS TOURNAMENT WORK,WE HAVE TO "HAVE" 21 ANGLERS AT 3,500 (3 PER BOAT) OR 28 ANGLERS AT 2,300 (4 PER BOAT)AND HELP FROM A FEW SPONSORS,WE ARE TRYING TO GET THE BEST NUMBER OF ANGLERS PER BOAT AND CREATE TEAMS SO WE CAN LOWER THE ENTRY AND ALSO HAVING TEAMS MAKES IT MUCH EASIER TO HAVE A TOURNAMENT GAME PLAN ,YOUR APRIL TRIP IS A "DEAL",I AM SURE WE CAN COME UP WITH A FRIENDLY TOURNAMENT ON YOUR TRIP "BIGGEST YFT"

No problem, John. I have my own idea. I am thinking about daily pool by collecting $10 or $20 from 12 guys for pool money each day and it goes to a fisherman who catch the biggest fish. And the guy who win the pool most buys a lunch for everyone at Chinese dimusm place when we go to Panama City last day. :)

WE ARE ALSO RAISING THE PRICE MONEY FOR THE BIGGEST YFT to 8k

Question, so now the biggest YFT is worth $8,000 CASH ?

Plus the biggest Cubera gets $ 2,000 Cash and $2,000 Gift cert
and the biggest Rooster gets $1,000 Cash and $1,000 gift cert ?

Have you decided how the biggest is going to be determined
for the cubera and rooster fish ? weight ?

And the $5,000 gift cert bonus for the grand slam ?

Adding all these prizes up, I only come up with $20,000
and 5,000 of that 20,000 is on contingency,
only won if a grand slam is caught on jig/popper.

Website says $25,000 is prizes, am I missing something ?

    Question - What if ?

What if no tuna is caught during the tournament.
what happens to the $8,000 prize money ?

    While unlikely, this is fishing,
    and anything is possible,
bad weather for a few days, it is the tropics,
or if the red tide shows up,
as it usually does in May and shuts down the fishing,
then what happens with the prize money ?

fishyhat]Question, so now the biggest YFT is worth $8,000 CASH ? Yes, we decided to do 28 anglers on this tournament.

Plus the biggest Cubera gets $ 2,000 Cash and $2,000 Gift cert
and the biggest Rooster gets $1,000 Cash and $1,000 gift cert ? Yes

Have you decided how the biggest is going to be determined
for the cubera and rooster fish ? weight ? Not yet, we are working on it

And the $5,000 gift cert bonus for the grand slam ? Yes, Grand Slam price will be awarded to a team that catches all 4 species. In case nobody catch 4 species, we will do a drawing for this price

Adding all these prizes up, I only come up with $20,000
and 5,000 of that 20,000 is on contingency,
only won if a grand slam is caught on jig/popper.
We have not get all the sponsors together, so far we have about $25k in Cash and prices (rods, poppers, jigs and reels). We should have more than $25k in cash and prices after all sponsors are in.

Questionn - Boats and Captains ?

If we sign up, do we get to choose the captain
and boat for our team ?

Would like to be able to choose my boat,
as I can't see how 4 guys are going to toss
poppers at the same time on a 27 foot Pursuit Express
    with no easy bow access,
or on the 27 foot Edgewater,
which my friend owns one and is a tight fit for 4 people fishing,
would say impossible to pop 4 at the same time on that boat.
Don't want to be sitting down for 1/2 the fishing time
so we can take turns fishing,
not what I am looking to spend my money on,
    hope you can understand, thanks.

Thanks for the answers about the priz money

For those who doesn't have their own team mate, we will do a drawing to pair them. Drawing for boat and Capt will be at the meeting on May 17.

29ft Stamas will have enough room to accommodate casting from the bow and stern.

John is working on getting 34ft SeeVee and 31 or 36ft Contender.

Btw, all the boat will be traveling at 30 knots so every body will be start fishing at the same time or at least at the same travel speed to and from fishing ground.

IF we do 4 anglers per boat, 4 anglers will be working together as a team, considerations between team members are highly recommended:D .

IF we do 3 anglers per boat, it will be an individual tournament.
In this case we will arrange 2 anglers in the bow and one angler in the stern, switching places are highly recommended.

Do you have pictures of the all the different boats in this tournament ?
That would really be a big help in deciding our participation,
would like to see what I might be fishing on
and how the boat is layed out.

    29 STAMAS C/C
    31 STAMAS C/C
    33 STAMAS EXPRESS
    30 PURSUIT C/C
    27 EDGEWATER C/C
    27 PURSUIT EXPRESS
    30 SCARAB OR A 34 SEAVEE (TBA)

I'm still a little confused about the boats, sorry for having
    to ask so many questions.

You said "Btw, all the boat will be traveling at 30 knots"
    This confuses me a bit.

When I look at the PSF Lodge website it states :

"BRAND NEW STAMAS YACHT 29FT CENTER CONSOLE WITH TWIN 4 STROKE OUTBOARDS "

But when you look at the pictures posted on their website,
    and your tournament website,
it shows 2 different Stamas CC boats,
one with Yamaha outboards, which are clearly NOT 4 stroke motors,
and another Stamas CC boat with SUZUKI 140 HP motors ???

How does a boat with twin 140's travel at the same speed
as the same boat with twin 200's ????
And why does it say 4 stroke yami's, but I don't see any ?

Is there any way for my team to choose its boat and captain ?
Could I pay extra for this choice,
instead of having to draw for a boat that I might not want to fish on ?

Yami 2 strokes on the back of this stamas
    [IMG]

Suzuki 4 stroke 140's on this stamas ????

You said "Btw, all the boat will be traveling at 30 knots"
This confuses me a bit. We will limit the speed on all boats to 30 knots max so faster boat won't have advantage over the slower boat. I hope this will cleat things up a bit.

And why does it say 4 stroke yami's, but I don't see any ? I willhave john answer that question

Is there any way for my team to choose its boat and captain ? Captn and boat will be based on lucky draw:)
Could I pay extra for this choice, No, it won't be fair to other competitors
instead of having to draw for a boat that I might not want to fish on ?[/QUOTE]

THE BOATS ARE GOING TO CRUISE AT THE NORMAL CRUISE ,(NOT AT WIDE OPEN),SOME BOATS ARE 10 TO 15 MINS FASTER ONLY ,THAT IS WHY WE PUT THE ALL LINE IN AT 7:30 AM,REMEMBER THE TEAM CHOOSES THE LOCATION TO FISH ,AS FAR AS THE CAPTAINS WE CHOSE THE TOP TEN BEST CAPT. IN THIS AREA.THEY ARE ALL PROS. ,IT IS NOT EASY TO PUT THIS GROUP OF CAPTS. TOGETHER,WE HAVE THE BEST OF THE BEST ,AS SOON AS I GATHER PICTURES AND COMPLETE RESUME'S OF ALL THE CAPTS. I WILL POST IT ,WE ARE STILL PUTTING THE BEST BOATS TO WORK THE TOURNEY,SO EVERY BOAT WILL BE SIMILAR
