I think Monday has already been canceled. Our next trip is Thursday but Thursday night is looking bad, we are looking at possibly moving to Wednesday-Thursday.

I have 5 spots on Thursday. Was wondering when you would know if the trip would move to Wed-Thursday. Just wondering since our guys have to ask for days off. TIA.

The forecast has deteriorated. It looks like it will be another cancel.
what a bummer. Have not been able to get out on one of these 30 hrs at all.

Me either. It’s been a down right terrible spring to be in the fishing industry.
I feel bad for you guys Capt Matt. I hope you guys can make it up with a decent snapper season.

Been bad over here also. every 12 hour trip it blows. You can plan one weeks out and always blows. Plenty of wind but no rain at all this year.
We have moved Mondays trip up a day to Sunday-Monday to avoid the cold front that’s forecasted to hit late Monday night.

I asked about this next door and after a little back and forth this was posted. I have zero verification of this as I don't have FB nor access to the group listed in this FB post.

well from what i googled looks like with headboat permit they can catch one per vessel per year,
The bluefin spawn in the Gulf and, unless something has changed, it is illegal to target them. By-catch is OK. They are governed by the rules and quotas in the Atlantic.
Maybe a record for the biggest party boat fish. Maybe worth $7k or more if you could sell it. I sure as heck have no place to store that much fish.

That's definitely a nice one to catch for the year!
One per vessel per year.

Large medium and giant BFT.

(i) No large medium or giant BFT may be retained, possessed, landed, or sold in the Gulf of Mexico, except one per vessel per year may be landed if caught incidentally to fishing for other species.
