For 12 hour trips I've been on, New Buc cruises about 25kts for a roughly 4 hours, so whatever that distance works out to be with the occassional weaving/tacking so we don't get beat up on waves.How far you go out on a 12hr trip? The Double eagle has been running 12 hr trips that cost $175 per person and they go out about 35 miles max. They are now running some 12 hr nite trips from 6PM to 6AM for mangrove snapper. They don't burn much fuel and seem to carry around 19 to 28 people. Once red snapper open they will run out to 60 miles offshore. Gags are closed for most of the year over here since they are all but gone. But red grouper is open, but they are in bad shape and i am sure more lock downs on them are coming.

I would love to try the boat out or cook on it whenever they needed a cook. I am on the other side of the gulf in slow boat heaven. Parking over here at Clearwater is $10 a day also.Come try them out whenever you're near Galveston, TX. Parking is about $10 credit card only. Adult ticket $135. People like their cheeseburgers, but I'm not a fan of their fries. These early beeliner trips before snapper season usually arent 100% packed.

We are lucky over here we have white grunts 10 to 30 miles offshore that are the bread and butter fish for the half day and 8 hour trips. Used to get lots of gags in 15 to 60ft but not anymore. Rare to see a red snapper inside of 35 miles over here. But have great red snapper bottom 42 to 60 miles offshore. Our best beeliner fishing is 110 miles to the northwest in 140ft were they avg 2lbs or more. I always just cook hot dogs or Bugers on the shorter trips and we have meals included on the 36 hour trips. The boat i worked on had a 12 hour nite trip Sunday and killed the mango snaps on a wreck 38 miles offshore. Over 160 snaps for 18 peeps, i should have went out. Just not a nite person anymore.Any of the food that comes off the hot grill on the New Bucc is pretty good and the prices are very fair. The fries come out of a microwave (or air fryer, I'm not sure) and I'd avoid them. My first few trips I brought a bunch of food with me onboard, then stopped after I realized that the galley is all you really need. Now I just bring water and energy drinks, maybe a pack of oreos or something like that but I plan to buy my meals from the galley.

We canceled our trip for today, it was hanging around borderline but after speaking with the pilot boats this am we made the right call. They said it’s NASTY outside the rocks.There was a trip scheduled for today. Looking at the weather I'm guessing it cancelled. Been a few weeks with no reports.
I feel for those that have been getting cancelled. We have been very fortunate this season so far , we booked 4 'trips this season. We have made it out on the first 2, both were great trips. We have 2 to go!!!!!

The Cook usually makes something for supper too.......Last trip he even had some steaks..........
Never seen 2 cooks on a trip. Heck we got no where for the cook to sleep on the long trips.I would recommend bringing some protein bars for late night snacks. The galley usually has two cooks but on the trips that there is only one cook the galley will shut down for a couple hours in the middle of the night.
