All long trips this spring will be 30 hrs. The office will begin taking reservations on December 20th at 5:30 am and reservations can be made online at www.galvestonpartyboats.com or by phone (409)763-5423.

Hi,

I am a newbie to these trips and got a couple of questions regarding booking these. Are fishing spot assigned? If I book a spot at the stern, am I allow to go to the bow once we are at the rig to cast Halcos for YFT? Also, what is the cancellation policy in an event of an emergency that I could not make the trip. Looking to book for myself and for a buddy or two.

Fishing spots are asigned for the bottom fishing. Once tuna fishing starts where you fish is based on method. Casting off the bow and some off the starboard side. Jiggers are on the port side.
Per their website the 30 hr trips can be refunded up to one week before sailing. After that ylu have to get someone to buy your ticket, rarely is this hard to do there's almost always someone needing a ticket.

I read somewhere there's no Amberjack this spring. Anybody else heard that?

I just checked. Looks like it will only be open 1 month next year… in May.

EDIT: After new findings, the season will be open 2 months next year Sept-Oct

They have cut back on jacks in my part of the gulf as well. Looks like they are gonna clamp down on red and gag grouper over here as well.

We booked our 2023 red snapper trips this morning.

Waiting patiently for the Spring Tuna trips to go on sale!!!!!!!!!

Was waiting on go at 5:30 am!!!!!!!

I got spots on the May 1 and the May 29 trips. Hoping amberjack season will be open, but I don't think so.

Will be me, my son, and Spikedog.

Anyone else on those days?

Hey guys, our first couple trips in January have a lot of openings. If it’s anything like last year early January should be good. Our first two trips of 2022 had a combined total of over 100 YFT.

I've got a trip in late March typically what does the yft bite look like that time of year?

Usually a smaller class of fish but March is normally pretty good. That time of year they can be keyed in on smaller baits. I would definitely bring a couple of the smaller Frenzy’s and if you chunk use tiny pieces of bait.

Just signed up (2) for the Jan. 5th trip! Do we have enough people on it to make the trip?

I'm on in April for my birthday present to myself. I might try to hop on another trip if my Venice trip in February is a bust.

No. We will be moving too fast, 20-22 knots.

Wished i lived over there or you bring the boat over here. 22 knts are what dreams are made of. All our cheap boats go slower and slower. 10 knts is the norm. I would love to see you guys come over here and mix things up. I gots plenty of numbers for ya but just not much in the way of tuna.
