I have a Stella 4000FA (2003 Japan) with a broken Bail Assembly part No RD8140 which is beyond repair and unfortunately discontinued.
I have tried everywhere to obtain this part but to no avail.
Is it possible to modify another Shimano Bail Assembly to suit my reel?

Far from a guru of anything but it may be easier to buy a used reel. May find an old non working one real cheap and have some parts.

Might give Calvin a shot at the Reel Spa.

Have you checked with Southwest Parts in Dallas?
I know they picked up a LOT of obsolete FA stuff when Shimano discontinued
    production.

Let me ask my friend, he had some issue on pinion gear on his Stella 4kfa..same as you couldn't find the part so he was going to break down and sell parts separately..why don't you text me the pix so I can forward to him..and ask...I'll pm you the my contact number..
