OK guys, I'm looking to buy one of these for my husband Joe. He's been wanting the new hoo-x or LX (Avet). This morning he left the site open and I was looking at a post from Gman and seen his new reel and well WOW. I figure I just got to get this for my husband. I was looking on the net and found that there are two new Accurate reels, as well. I know he loves tuna fishing and bottom fishing. He was more excited about his first tuna trip than our wedding. What can I say I love him. I know he wants a rod from 360 (TJ)

He's at work today so any info would be great

Thanks Maria

If he's into Tuna and Bottom fishing, get the 665 two speed. Forget the Avet's. The Accurates are in a different league. Well worth the extra money.
This is a fact, not just my opinion.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one that was more excited about fishing on our honeymoon than the wedding. I even took a bunch of fishing couples with us on our honeymoon. I enjoyed the four best things on earth. Fishing, Friends, Women, and drinking. Life is good when you can have all four at the same time.

I second the 665 2 speed. I've been an Avet fan myself (still love their big reels) but the HooX won't compare with the new Accurates. Not even close in my opinion. As soon as Charkbait puts em up for sale, this'll be my next reel.
Your husband is a lucky man.

Hi Maria,

My prediction is your marriage will last..... Just because you seem to get " It ". Good for you. Never forget "It" and I hope your husband knows he is a lucky man.

Depending on the bottom fishing depths your husband is fishing the 870 two speed may be the right reel for him. If you can ask his fishing buddies how much line is required this new smaller reel is off the hook for its ease of handling, casting and power including drags. I will be using mine for much larger fish than normally found in Texas. My single speed was wonderful but this new 2 speed is off the charts. The only reason I would go with the 665 is if he is trying for bigger fish over 140 pounds or he needs some additional line capacity. To tell the truth, either reel will tickle his socks off. Just remember it may be your responsibility to send his Accurates in every year to the factory for R and R. It is the best $15.00 you can spend and that usually goes towards return shipping. When you buy Accurate you buy the entire factory for years to come.

I hope you tell a girlfriend or two what you are doing. Maybe they will do the same and then tell a friend. Its much cheaper than a divorce lawyer and it makes the relationship so much better.

I debated this in my head 50 times as I waited for the 665 2speed to come out. I was on the waiting list but the 870 2 speed was ready. What to do??? At the end of the day they are almost the same price but the 665 gives you more capacity and drag to fight bigger fish.

If its tuna he is after I would highly suggest the 665 for the drag, power and line capacity

I love mine already

Ragman, Please go ahead and delete this. Thanks for all the help guys. I will be getting him the 665 2 speed. Joe went to the lake catfishing so he won't be back until later. I know he has got some Charkbait discount card are they the cheapest around. Please let me know.
