The line is 200lb Jerry Brown Hollow Core. The hook is a Gamakatsu Heavy Duty Live Bait in 7/0.

My supplies:

Pulling the double line the full length.

I knocked off about half a dozen in 20 minutes. I also colored some of the white JB line with a red sharpie. Also, the snell is hit with a drop of Zap prior to putting on the heat shrink tubing.

More pics coming.............

Thanks for showing,

Thats some darn good tinkering.
My biggest problem is working with
the Hollow core. I wish I had smaller thumbs
and better eyes..........

Have you tried it with the 200 lb? I find that the 200 lb and larger JB is very easy compared to the smaller stuff.

Just curious, why are you making the loop that way? I've seen it done by doubling the line, and then tie the same knot you used (so the loops two lines go thru the eye vs. one). do you get more action with the single line threaded vs a double line? better hook up ratio? less cutoffs?

Jig: Just personal preference. I like the cleaner look of the single(inside doubled) line to my loop. I don't know about the action.

Just wondering is that matter if the line should enter the hook eye in another direction?

I do mine that direction, it holds the hook point out away from the jig.

Yes, it does look more 'professionally' done. I do think it might also help with cut offs due to having a thicker single line vs two separate.

I have 200# hollow Izor that I double back into itself basically making it double walled and 400#. Then I just run both ends through the eye like you would a single line.

Why, if it isn't broke why fix it. Kevlar works great.
The answer is simple. Mono is readily available and it is easy to make assist hooks with crimps. And it works.
I am suggesting a cheap alternative. :)

Well if you choose to use mono wouldn't a snell at the hook and a 4 turn uni at the ring or swivel work as well?
No need to snell or use knots. You can use ring or swivel as you like.

I experiemented with color tube over mono as an attractor as well as protector.

Appreciate the pictures! I hope various members can create a library of various approaches to terminal tackle.
