I would like to hear back from anyone that has successfully jigged Bluefin out of the Wilmington area. I know some have tried, but I want to hear about successes.

Also are there any charters offering the chance?

Thanx

I don't want to discourage you, but the chance of hooking a giant on a jig there is vey slim. It is not worth to try it.

I meant from presenting top water or swimming baits to them shallow with light equipment.

Now, are there any success stories?

There has never been any success jigging BFT out of Wilmington area or Morehead City. Now I have participated and have succesfully jigged BFT out of Oregon Inlet 2 year's ago,but they were small one's approx. 100lb to 150 lb's.
If you want to jig out of Wilmington forget BFT,go for A.J.'s,Grouper,Snapper and Blackfin Tuna.I know a guide out of Wilmington, "Di-Hard Charter's" (Steve),He will make your arm's hurt and your freezer full.. P.M.me if you need detail's.

Wait a few more days. Commercial season will be over. Give it a week after that and the recreational bite may very likely be on. I can't recommend anyone in particular, but Morehead City is the place you'll want to be.

yeah, im keeping a big popper w/ st66's on there locked and loaded. if we see some working , im gonna throw it.

if i get spooled, i get spooled. if i get broke off or break a rod, oh well, but if it happens it would be oh so sweeeet
