Anyone use the Star paraflex 7’xh or 6’6xxh for jigging for big tuna up to 150lbs? Like this rod because of the price point and the longer rod then most jigging rods so I can use it as a dual purpose rod to throw poppers occasionally. Will pair it with a 20k saragosa

Have you Jigged a 100# plus tuna before? Just asked bc a tuna if that size will beat you up good on a longer rod. I’d recommend a dedicated jigging rod and dedicated popping rod if you can budget it

I can feel a huge difference between 5’ & 6’ rod hooking up with (only) 20plus lbs AJ from 120 meters, I can only imagine a tuna that size. o_O

Biggest I’ve hugged up was a 80lb bluefin on a 6’6 325g with a 10k. I can’t budget it that’s why I want a rod that will be able to do both. I have too many other expenses

There are several rods that can both decently but not perfectly.

I use to jig and occasionally pop with a Hercules heavy rod. I think it's 6'6" in length and paired with a 20k stella.
