Since I'm making my own leaders ahead of time using hollow spectra, I bought a Jinkai Mono Cutter because it makes a burr-less cut in the end of the Mono. There are two advantages: it's easier to thread the Mono into the Spectra (or threading needle) if there are no burrs and there are no burrs to fray the Spectra.

I have to admit that it pained me to buy one but after using it, it's well worth the money, beautifully cutting the mono. (Keep an eye on it, don't let anyone use it to cut wire. ;))

I got mine from Basil at BHP Tackle.
