How long is that new power handle?
I like the look of that black 665. I gather it's topped off with white JB line.
Nice looking. I like the contrast. Did you get it from Meltons? I'm a little upset with them right now. I've had an order on hold since Oct 31st. One excuse after another.
I was surprised the other day when I spooled a 665. I had a Torsa 30 that was spooled with 80# and a Winton leader of 25 feet, 80 pound test. The line was brand new. I took it off the torsa 30 and put it on the 665. It fit like a glove. Those two reels are within 1% line capacity of each other.
Then I took the spectra off another torsa 30 to put on a 665W. I knew it had a larger capacity, so I took a guess and put 75 yards more of 80# spectra then tied a knot, and topped it off with the line from the torsa 30. I was way short. That 665W holds at least 25% more line then the 665. I had to start all over with a new spool. That little mess took me over 2 hours of cranking that little golf ball that Accurate gives you. That really sucked.
Not much longer before I get my new Chingon handles.
Hopefully this guy I found yesterday has it together.
The power handle is approximately 4 inches, I love the black look as well and teh reel feels completely different. I gues its powder coated??. You are right on both accounts it has over 400 yards of JB hollow, a 25' windon and alot of room left, no where near the brim. I could have put another 50/75 yards of JB no problem. I purchased it from Meltons, they had it in stock and it shipped out the same day. Ive been lucky with them lately
