I have talked to Chip and got the information on when he's available. Anytime in May except the 2nd and last week of May and he's fully available in June if we need to push back that far. He is not a charter guide but just someone trying to take people out to show them the fishery in NC. We will split gas/stay. Chip can fish 4 comfortably in his 23' CC. Whoever is interested please post up so we can see who can go and when and then we will arrange a date then. No tackle provided. I am available anytime in 2 weeks except June 7 as I got another trip.

Other things to note:
Flights are averaging about 250 from DFW area right now.
Chip will be able to transport us.
Myself and guest are confirmed to go along with mad marlin. Need 1 more.

I would be in if you had enough interest to go June 14 or 22 or any days later than that.

Chip can find a hotel or something we can stay at over there for cheap and we can split the costs. I plan to fish only 1 full day then I am taking off. The weather is up and down over there right now from 60's to 80's, by the time May/June hits we should have stable good weather. Ksong just got back from fishing with Rick in NC and I heard the trip went pretty good.

I need a break and I decided to go down to NC on Thursday as I see the first nice weather on Thursday in three weeks.
We are going to try snow grouper in 850 ft first and jig for AJ. Though we have to run 70 miles for the fishing ground, the AJ and the snowy grouper ground is only 6 - 7 miles apart.
If we are lucky, we might encounter yellowfin tuna or African Pompano on jigs. We don't fish with Capt. Rick this time as he is booked already.

Lucky you! I keep counting down the days until May 2nd. I have not fished in way too long. Maybe I'll sneak out for a day trip soon....maybe get a few blackfin.

Are you bringing all the same gear or testing anything new?

I got to test Saragosa reel more and I'll use the reel most of time except snowy grouper fishing. It is interesting to see whether AJ bite or not after northeast blows as bottom fishing is normally bad after Northeast blow.

Thats not bad for a weekend trip!! I'm heading to Myrtle Beach in Mid May for work and was trying to figure out how to sneak away to get some fishing in. Anyone have any experience there??
I'd be interested if you guys go to NC again.
Thanks,
Nick

Hey Nick, I'd like to arrange a weekend trip in June with Chip if he's available so maybe we can organize something together! :)

That sounds like a plan, but June is usually crazy for me, i'm going to try to get up to Mass for some bluefin action the beginning of June, if you want try that out. Then shark tournaments every weekend until july... We can figure somthing out!!
Thanks,
Nick
