Used to do something like that cos mine don’t have hook keeper and learn it hard way it’s not the best way. Now I just leave the jig attached and lie on the floor

You can put the hook in one of the guide legs but never in the ceramic ring. Another place is somewhere on the Reel handle ( around the knob area). Most jigging hooks are big enough that they will clear the area and you will not do any damage .
