All that footage was taken aboard "tight Lines", a 38' Fountain I guided on last Saturday.

We blew up 3 Shimano Saragosa reels, and snapped a 60-80 tuna sniper, but managed to hook 13 solid bluefin, got 5 to the boat, 5 pulled hooks, 2 long distance break offs, and a reel melting run which snapped at the leader after dumping the spool which looked to be all of 450 plus pounds, 275 yards to the backing before I palmed the incredibly hot spool and it broke like dental floss at the end of the leader, near the lure.

The prototype OTI 7' rod and the Stella 18K were up to the task and handled these fish with ease...wish I could say the same for the saragosa 18 Ks that got worked over. They landed one too many of these bigguns this year I guess. I had difficulty obtaining any new ones, so I am switching over to Van Staal VS 250's for now, will see how they handle these brutes......stay tuned.

The Tattoo Sea dogs and Pups continue to be the go to lure when these big bluefin are crashing.

A video camera mounted under the boat, but Makos and Tiger sharks swim a lot faster than a man. You may not see them but do not doubt that they see you.

WOW bluefin tuna fishing is something I must try some time. Perhaps in the mediterranean sea next fall if everything works out well. Great videos.
