How to replace knob on Jigging Master Wiki reel?

863 Views 14 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  day0ne
Instructions looked pretty easy until the head of the screw broke. Not sure if it had loctite on it or not?

Ideas?

Taking out the round knob for T-bar handle
The next best thing to do is drill it out. You’ll need another shaft to replace the drilled out shaft. If the t-nar is a JM item and came with a shaft you’re good to go. If you need a shaft, I know 7seas in Thailand had them in stock a few months back.

yes that screw has lots of glue ….. You really have to heat it up. And it’s also clockwise to unscrew (not anticlockwise).

If it’s mine, I will the the knob out , clamp the shaft (heat it then turn) and it should come out.
Which T Bar you trying to put on? JM carbon?
Really left hand threads? That's why it broke then. I bought the carbon egg but found the t-bar in the matching color.

Drill is my best option then.
Makes sense! So it’s just glue and pressure holding the shaft in. Once the screw broke off their is noting permanently holding the shaft anymore. So what Explorer said is a good idea, heat, grab hold and twist it off. Good Luck!

Now the problem is how you going to get another shaft.
maybe you can show the t bar you want to put on?

you got this for matching color? If it’s this JM bar it should come with a different shaft. You will be all good to go than.👍🏼

Perfect! Then once you get the old knob and shaft off, you’re all set.

Nope! There is still the matter of the small screw inside the knob that is threaded into the opposite end of the shaft to remove.
I hate when companies loctite it for life! Just a drop goes a long way. I know it cost more than just the t-bar but sometimes it’s so much easier to buy the arm and knob together. I tried removing a ball knob once with an accurate and bought them together ever since.

Accurate used to use a reversed thread on their knobs, so loctite wasn't needed.
