I just received some Hellhound stickbaits (they make them for muskie fishing but they seem very well made). They come with 2 trebles that I want to change over to single hooks with swivels. What size hooks would you recommend. These baits are 4oz and 7.5 inches in length. They are wired through and should make a great casting lure for saltwater species. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

hard to see those lures from where i'm sitting but i'd say pick your hook size the same way i do for marlin lures..........

the gap o'the hook should be about the same size as the diameter of the head or body o'your lure........... IMO

at least the tail hook anyway

i've used 8/0 gami siwash on the ass end and a treble on the belly or a shorter shaft hook. dont want them hooking themselves.

Thanks for the hook size info. I put them on and see how the bait casts and retrieves. PR
