I have a Cabo 70 and would like to use it on my new OTI 6 foot 300 gram rod. The reel foot is too big. Does anyone have experience grinding it down so it will fit--or should I just be looking to buy another reel because it is too big of a headache. Thanks.

If you grind it you will weaken it.

OK--so what do I buy? I also have a new OR 100 popping rod. So, I need something to match up to it. Would like something around the size of the Cabo--what would you suggest?

Just grind it should be no problem I would rather it fit into the reel seat

LT1, get yourself a Stella 10kSW to match with your OR 100 rod. If you can spare the change, get a Stella 8kSWPG for that OTI 300g, otherwise, a Saragosa 8000F will do the job.
