All things considered was it really necessary to kill the shark? If it is going to feed people then that is fine. If it is going to be towed out to sea and dumped then it sure was a waste. I do not know the particulars so my comment mat be out of line. I am just expressing my feelings. It sure is a magnificent creature.

As additional evidence, note the phone number on the crane in the background of the first photo. That's a Canadian Maritimes area code (Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island, specifically). Unlikely that would show up in Texas.

And the fish looks very blue, just like a mako. Great whites are gun metal gray.

That's the Mako-est lookin' white shark I've ever seen!
plus the fog & 902 area code don't exactly scream "Texas", either.
    nice try, Mr. Bill.

I'm not trying to pull anybody's leg here. These pictures and the wording I printed were just copied and pasted. Somebody sent it to me with the text. You guys might be right. I don't know much about sharks as I don't fish for them. Never have, never will. I also don't make it a habit of memorizing area codes. If you ever go to the Texas coast in the early spring you will need radar as the fog is very thick.

Coincidentally, I happened to be looking at Texas state records for sharks today, and I didn't see one for the Great White. Might have missed it.
