I've searched threads and think I'm close on this, just not 100% sure...

I have a 20K SW full of 80lb OTI braid. I want to take it off and put it on a new Gorilla 12.

My first issue is that I think the 20K has 400yds of 80. I remember it taking all of the last 100yd spool, and I'm pretty sure it was the 4th spool. Just not 100% sure.

Next question is... should this line on 20K fill up Gorilla 12? I've seen varying capacities posted for Gorilla. Anybody using 80lb OTI that can confirm??

I don't have a power winder and I'm pretty much laid up in pain from a bad back. Would rather not do trial and error.

Can anybody help clear this up?

Thanks!!
Jason

You got 400yards on the 20k spool, I dont know how much the 12 will take though

OK... Just FYI... I got all 400 yds of OTI 80lb on using ~8-10lbs tension, and it is FULL... (If filling from bulk spool I prob would've stopped around 350yds.) Hopefully some fish will pack it a little tighter on Big E trip. :)

I personally dont think its 400yds on the 20k spool , and the 12 should hold about 550 yds if packed tightly

I Know i put 400 yards of the 80lb OTI on my 20000 spool

???

I just did it. It was 400 yards and it completely filled the reel under tension.

Feel free buying 600yds of line for one. I'm sure TJ won't mind selling 2 more spools. ;) But there is No Way 150 more yds of OTI 80 or 550 yds of any PE 8 will fit.
