Appreciate all that provided input on my first build. Fished it a few times since it was completed and I am pleased with its performance. No big Tuna yet, but it handled 20lb blackfins, 30 lb + cudas and a 50-60lb shark with no problem. http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/galleries/viewlargephoto.asp?uid=140276&gallery=1989 http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/galleries/viewlargephoto.asp?uid=140279&gallery=1989 http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/galleries/viewlargephoto.asp?uid=140278&gallery=1989 http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/galleries/viewlargephoto.asp?uid=140280&gallery=1989
Man, that is a great first build!!! Keep up the great work. You will find it hard to buy an off the shelf rod from now on out.
It is beatuful rod, good job.I have GUSA factory Dragon, you watch the tip,I pull 55 pound YFT always sitting.I saw Scotts GUSA,he build,it was awesome When I grove up I will learn how to rap one!!!!!!!!!
I had a blast building the rod and it turned out well for my first attempt. Lots of problem areas that I can see, somewhat of a perfectionist. The biggest problem was getting the wraps to be square with the blank. The Green wraps in the pictures don't do it justice, the best pic for color is the one showing the last eye and tip top. Ed
