Is there a good group to help donate to? Getting supplies to the outer islands is hard.
Who is the best to get it done?
The Fijian people are so nice, I am still in shock by this.

Australia has sent a contingent of Army Engineers, Medical supplies , medical staff etc together with relief workers . NGO aid organisations have also responded.

No idea who is best to deliver on-ground assistance to the remote islands.

Hey guys. The cyclone has been devastating. My home town Rakiraki was ground zero. The crossed right over it, 350kmph winds. Most buildings in Ra and in the path have been destroyed. Thousands are in evac centres. Aid is very slow to reach a lot of communities. Red Cross are a good one to donate to. Also the Fijian prime ministers disaster relief appeal is the one that is going to get it distributed to to the worst affected and working with Aussie military to reach outlying areas

This is my close friend Salesh. He is in a number of pics that I posted on 360 over the years of us Fishing in Ra from Elington Wharf as well as in the pics of my green boat build lending a hand. He was interviewed by NZ Herald

Our PM has been leading the charge getting out there to the people comforting and delivering aid

This is my flat, where I built the green boat. I was in Sydney with my wife and daughter but my cousin sis was staying there with her hub and 1yr old. The roof blew off and ceilings shattered downward. They tried hiding in the bathroom then had to seek shelter in the flat next door which had a concrete roof. There are a lot of horror and survival stories. Another cousin had to run to another house holding his 8 month old son in the middle of the cyclone when the roof of his brand new dream house blew. My wife's sister's and family rolling up inside mattresses for protection when their roofs blew and things started flying. A lot of people have been injured with the current death toll just under 50

I would like to request all to please donate to the Red Cross or PM's appeal 12321646_1010096945700258_6992565782024629745_n.jpg 12742025_1226173287412061_5128070637367006892_n.jpg

I heard from Rohit ( Saga ) today by PM as he could not post in the thread , he & his family is OK as was in Sydney at the time , but his town was right in the path of the cyclone & has been devastated.
he said the best places to make donations are the RedCross Fiji appeal or the Fijian PM's appeal.
