The blanks brought over last night have me excited. I have been a dedicated Seeker man for a long time, but those are the lightest, most well put together blanks I have held. Do you think they will be as tough as they are light?
The prototype rods will be on Cingco trip. All production rods will have FUJI SIC guides, reel seat and aluminum gimbal. 7ft spinning rated for 50-70#,400 gram lure. 6ft jigging rod rated for 50-60# lure weight 400 grams. 5'6" jigging rod rated for 600 grams lure. Rod will be available in January.
Thanks TJ. Those are the ones i was talking about and I saw them at my house this weekend. Some of my wadefishing rods weigh more than these babies. I could jig with them all night! Not that I would...probably would start to chunk.
Another stupid question. Who makes these blanks I have never heard of OTI, are they made here in the USA or elsewhere?
tj, was the little rod the 600gram rod??? if so that thing is much lighter than my jigging master 400gram. Amazing..

Does any of this new rod suitable to use for chunking and would it be available before Dec 8th? I have a 52 hr big E trip then and interested in buying one Thanks
i am testng a 600 gram rod this weekend that definetly has enough backbone to be both a heavy jig rod and a great chunking rod. it was built by txseadog and is black with blue wraps. we put a 2 speed jigging reel on the rod to test both the rod and the reel. it is a short rod and is extremely lightweight. the outfit has to be taken on another trip in late november for more testing but after that it may be for sale as a used rod at great pricing if your interested....rick
OK guys stop twisting my arm I'll take it with me and give a full report LOL My trip is in late Nov on the Big E
rick, I'm definitely interested in buying that rod provided it is not broken due to a cow tuna after jojo's big E trip please let me know when it's ready for sale.
Few rod pictures, this evening I will take more picture on this rod load up with 30# of death weight.
well i just now noticed that it txseadog put my name on the rod. i am sure nobody would want it with my name on it so i guess i will have to keep it an add it to my inventory.....rick
rick, it's not a problem at all with the name on the rod. I would take it if you don't mind selling it. I just want a quality jigging/chunking rod without the huge price tag.
Any more picture? Please post more picture hehehhehehheh I can't wait to see this rod. OK, but just one more....
Hey Tj, That is one sweet rod. Kevin dropped it off this evening.. I'm supposed to meet up with Rick tomorrow and give it to him.(along with with other)
