They've been having problems for several days now. I've been getting many random "cannot display page" messages and horrible response time.

Same here. Sure it will be back soon. But not having that site sure makes the day go by slower.

The site was hacked .... big time.

I dropped in around 11 AM and got a rather ominous looking web page that announced that this site has been hacked by so and so. I went back about 15 - 20 minutes later and the page was still there.

Monty now has an announcement over there that the site was 'compromised' and that he is using backups to try to get the site up again and hopes to soon.

I'll never understand why people do these things. What can the reward possibly be?

damn that sux, being a Systems Administrator, I would hate to be Monte right now, restoring from Backup and fixing compromised services can be very time consuming and difficult.

Patching services before hand is much easier than fixing after an attack.

Yes the site is down by a Hacker. Some people havve too much time on their hands.
